I catch up with two-stroke demon and goggle guy Rob Holyoake on this edition of Five Minutes With Fletch.
Rob dives deep into his lifelong love for two-stroke motorcycles, reminiscing about the distinct smells, roaring sounds, and waves of nostalgia. But picking a favourite bike is a more difficult question to answer!
Rob also shares his thoughts on Foxhill (who else remembers that epic ride in the 2023 event [check out YouTube if you haven't already seen it), highlighting why there's nothing like riding through the Foxhill valleys, especially when the crowd is buzzing with energy.
As we explore his ultimate race day, Rob ponders the age-old question: Is the first or last lap more crucial to victory? He spills the beans on his strategies for psyching out the competition, discusses his questionable nutrition choices, and reflects on some unforgettable moments from his racing journey.
Additionally, we dive into the classic debate of SX versus MX, and, of course, we tackle that one burning question that every kit fan (aka me) wants answered!
Thanks to Rob Holyoake for the interview.
